Prana flow is a vinyasa-based breath inspired journey that offers a complete spectrum of rhythms. Every class is 'well-rounded' - following the mandala of the body - to create whole body transformation of strength and fluidity, circulation and centering. Students are empowered to experience prana - the universal source of breath, life-energy, and conscious intelligence - as the navigating source of yoga practice and vital living.
Note: This class is created for those with an established vinyasa flow yoga practice.

Ashtanga yoga is an advanced and challenging form of hatha yoga primarily introduced to the west by Sri K Pattabhi Jois. The practice consists of vinyasa, connective movement that together with smooth, deep breathing (ujjayi), gaze (dristi) and locks (bandhas) create heat in the body that burns off toxins and poisons that we carry with us. This powerful and vigourous practice purifies and realigns the body, cultivates a feeling of inner peace and is at its essence a mediatation in motion.

KUNDALINI YOGA

Kundalini Yoga/Meditation: which works on the premise that the body has eight "chakras," and through use of "breath of fire" (rapid breathing), one can heat up the body from the bottom up, eventually "raising kundalini" to achieve a feeling of high enlightenment. A practical and powerful tool for self-healing that can be practiced by anyone. Kundalini utilizes postures, movement, stretching and exercise along with breath, sound current and meditation to work all aspects of your being. Kundalini Yoga helps to calm the mind and emotions, balance the glandular system and strengthen the nervous system. The body's energy that is found coiled at the base of the spine; symbolized by a coiled female serpent. Kundalini yoga uses the breath-- specifically, moving the breath along the spine to stimulate different energy centers.
This class is offered in Level I and Level II. Level II is reccomended for only intermediate Hatha students and advancing Kundalini students. Beginners should attend Level I please.

Join other moms-to-be in a warm, caring and fun class. This workout for expectant mothers includes stretching, movement, and breath designed as preparation for birth. A nurturing class designed to meet the changing needs of pregnancy. This class is a wonderful opportunity for pregnant women to share their experiences, connect with their developing baby, and prepare for childbirth through movement, relaxation and breath techniques.

PRANA HATHA YOGA

Hatha Yoga refers to the physical aspect of Yoga, of which there are many styles, out of which evolve more styles. Most styles of yoga taught are some form & variation of Hatha Yoga which focuses on building and stretching. The word Hatha broken into the root words HA ~Sun , THA ~ Moon. The word prana means breath and so in this class hatha yoga postures and prana unite for a mind, body, spirit experience which goes beyond the stretch into a cosmic meditation.
Note: This class is appropriate for beginners and intermediate students alike.

GENTLE YOGA IN GORGAS PARK
 
Improve core control, coordination, standing alignment and balance with a combination of Yoga and Pilates mat exercises. Class is held in front of the War Memorial in Gorgas park. Limited number of mats available. Class will be cancelled if it rains that day or if there is an excessive heat warning.

Anusara Inspired Flow

This is a non traditional vinyasa class suited to intermediate level practitioners. Vinyasa simply means, lack of resistance, or, to flow. The class is highly creative and features a unique blend of asana sequencing that is both static and flowing. The teachings here are a "celebration of the heart" and are heavily influenced by Anusara yoga. Students can expect to be challenged in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
